The Origin Story

The Spark

Do you remember the very first piece you ever knotted? What was it, and how did it feel to complete it?

It was 2008, and I watched my Aunt make a Woman Purse by making Knot with some Cords. Then I helped her to make it, and it was very excited for me after it was done.

The Creative Process & Philosophy

The Meditative State

Macramé is very repetitive and rhythmic. What goes through your mind while you're working? Is it a form of meditation for you?": "Macramé is very repetitive and rhythmic. What goes through your mind while you're working? Is it a form of meditation for you?

When I make Macrame, I need to be calm, and the Surrounding must be quiet too. That’s why I actually prefer to work at night, when I can be focus and concentrate.

The "Mistake"

What happens when a knot goes wrong? Do you undo it, or do you let the 'imperfection' guide the piece in a new direction?": "What happens when a knot goes wrong? Do you undo it, or do you let the 'imperfection' guide the piece in a new direction?

We definitely undo it, and try other way to do it.

When you look at a blank wall and a pile of rope, how do you decide where the first knot goes? Do you sketch it out, or is it intuitive?": "When you look at a blank wall and a pile of rope, how do you decide where the first knot goes? Do you sketch it out, or is it intuitive?
